MOMENTUM, LAW OF CONSERVATION OF MOMENTUM

MOMENTUM: Linear momentum of a moving body is equal to the product of its mass and velocity. It is denoted by  It describes the quantity of motion contained in a body and how easy or difficult to stop a moving body. If a body of mass m moves with velocity  then its linear momentum is given by  As the velocity is a vector quantity, therefore, linear momentum is also vector quantity and its direction is same as that of velocity.
